Original full 30-match advertising matchbook from Club Masque at 34 N. Jefferson St. in Dayton, Ohio. The vivid orange cover carries Masque\'s black-and-silver mask logo, telephone number 937-228-CLUB, and the welcoming slogan “not for everyone / everyone welcome.” All 30 original matches remain present, with distinctive black sticks and blue-purple match heads.
Club Masque opened at this downtown Dayton location in 2004 and became a long-running part of the city\'s LGBTQ+ nightlife. The club operated separate dance and show spaces and became associated with drag entertainment, pageants, DJs and visiting performers before closing the Jefferson Street venue in January 2020 after approximately 15 years. This matchbook survives as advertising from that chapter of Dayton nightlife history.
