I have been collecting handmade knives since1974. I have at one time or anotherowned at least one knife of each of the founding members of the Knife MakersGuild. The Steketee Damascus Hand MadeKnives are a few of the most beautiful knives I have owned. They really are a work of art andbeautiful. I had stopped collectinghandmade knives until I viewed the Steketee Knives. I knew that I had to own a few SteketeeKnives after viewing them. SteketeeKnives are made in the Ozarks of Missouri, United States of American. Alsoknown as STEK KNIVES. Item # 496. (CER2)

Allthe Steketee Knives (STEK KNIVES) that I own came with a CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN.The “CERTIFICATEOF ORIGIN” states “THE CUSTOM KNIFE DESCRIBEDBELOW WAS MADE BY: CRAIG A. STEKETEE” and “THEDAMASCUS STEEL WAS HAND FORGED BY: ADAML. STEKETEE” and “This 13 ¾ inch custom DamascusBowie Knife has a very RARE amber colored Sambar Crown Stag handle. The guard is Damascus. The 360-layer Stek Black Steel (the steel isall high carbon content) zebra II pattern blade is 8 ¼ inches long from the tipto the guard. The custom handmade sheathis genuine leather.” TheCERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN is signed by Craig Steketee “Signatureof Maker” and dated “August 2004” “Date Knife Was Made”.See pictures for picture of CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN. The Leather Sheath is 9 1/8 inches inlength. The Leather Sheath is stamped onthe back “STEK” and “2004”.
CONDITION: Ipurchased this knife directly from Craig Steketee in 2004. It has never been carried, used orsharpened. It was not stored in theleather sheath. The handle is in perfectcondition without any damage. Theleather sheath is in excellent condition, never having been used. The Damascus Blade does have a few small darkspots from surface rust that wiped off with an oily rag. I will gladly answer questions and sendadditional pictures if requested.

INFORMATION FROM THE CRAIGSTEKETEE WEBSITE: CraigSteketee states “I began designing and crafting custom knivesfull-time as Stek Knives in 1991. I am a member of \"ProfessionalKnifemakers Association\" (PKA) and \"The American BladesmithSociety\" (ABS). I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ft. Wayne ArtInstitute in 1974 and a Master of Fine Arts from Western Michigan University in1976 majoring in sculpture and printmaking. I taught art at the universitylevel from 1977 through 1991. My sculptures, paintings, and prints have beenexhibited at numerous art galleries and museums throughout the country. I firstbegan forging and casting steel while in graduate school. My knives have beenillustrated in the Knives Publication (by Ken Warner), the Knife Magazine,Blade Magazine, Fighting and Tactical Knives.”
“Stek Knives areproduced almost exclusively from Damascus steel which is hand forged in myshop. Damascus steel is the result of multi layers of steel forge weldedtogether to create a variety of patterns. The two main types of steel I use formy blades are 1080 and 15N20. A mixture that is alternately stacked, forged andhand welded together to make a billet. Four to eight billets are then stackedtogether to make a completed billet of 240, 360, or 480 layers. Because of thedifferent layers of steel, a Damascus blade has an excellent cutting edgesimilar to a serrated knife.”
