This point is froman old-time father / son Missouri collection - allfoundby Mr.Roland Shumate(1914 - 2002) and his dadPeter, who started the collection. The Shumate\'s collected from about 1915 to 1957 and were from Springfield, in Greene County, Missouri.A family collection that was collected over many generations. They hunted in their own county of Greene, but mainly hunted in Cedar and Webster Counties, Missouri. The collection was put into storage in the 1960\'s. When Mr. Roland Shumate was in his 80\'s, the entire family collection was sold toRoy Hathcockof West Plains, Missouri (author of Indian Pottery books and a well-known collector) in the mid 1990\'s. Mr. Hathcock turned over most of the collection toC.J. O\'Neillof Charlotte, North Carolina (now in Monroe) at the 1996 Owensboro Kentucky Artifact show that August. I bought it from Mr. O\'Neill in 1999 at the Pigeon Forge show and sent it to John Berner / AAIfor his opinion to type.
