This is very cool and very old I believe it's from 1950s. This is an African tribal mask from Jungle Cruise Adventureland Disneyland.
This is an incredible large tribal mask. This is old I believe in the 1950s hand carved and just amazing. This is made of wood and measures about 23 1/2 inches from tip to tip.
Walt Disney and his imagineers used to actually travel to the places like Africa and South America to purchase the pieces they used in the parks. This is an original handmade piece from africa.
Of course there are tribal masks on the queue and the attraction of Jungle Cruise as well as other places and adventureland.
This must have been a special piece because it actually still has an original tag from WED Imagineering. From 1953 until 1986 imagineering was known as WED which stood for Walter Elias Disney. They often tagged pieces that they wanted to either keep in the collection or just wanted to tag them for whatever reason. In 1986 it was changed to WDI Walt Disney imagineering.
You might have seen a few similar masks sell at that amazing high-end van Eaton sale with the top end Disneyland props and souvenirs. If you know about those you'll see this is a similar style.
