Decorative Pair Antique Italian Blue and Gold Hand Painted Porcelain Urns For Sale

A beautifully matched pair of hand-painted porcelain urns, these elegant pieces capture the timeless refinement of classical European decorative arts. Finished in a rich cobalt blue ground and accented with delicate gilt ornamentation, each urn features a finely detailed cartouche on the front depicting a romantic pastoral scene—likely inspired by classical mythology. The composition, with softly draped figures and a cherubic attendant, evokes the graceful charm of Rococo and neoclassical revival styles, adding both narrative interest and visual warmth. The painting is executed with remarkable precision, showcasing subtle shading, expressive figures, and a harmonious palette of soft pastels against the deep blue glaze. Surrounding gilt scrollwork frames the scene beautifully, while additional gold accents along the neck, lid, and base enhance the overall sense of luxury. Each urn measures approximately 13.5 inches high, 4.5 inches wide, and 5 inches deep, offering a refined, vertical presence that works equally well on a mantel, console, or flanking a pair of lamps. Their thoughtful design adds versatility: the small metal finials at the top unscrew, and inside each is a metal support rod, allowing them to be converted into table lamps. A discreet hole at the back of the base further supports electrical wiring, making these ideal for functional as well as decorative use. Good antique condition, there is a small loss to one of the painted scene near the foot. There is some rubbing losses to the gold gilding. No cracks or other noted damage. Please review the photos for further condition assessment. One urn is stamped “Keramos Italy,” a mark associated with Italian ceramic production in the 20th century. Their balanced proportions, rich coloration, and classical imagery make them a standout addition to both traditional and eclectic spaces alike.Check out our other antique listings.
