Straight from the sands of Arrakis, this is the officially licensed Dune: Sandworm Bookends set from Dark Horse Direct, produced in partnership with Legendary Entertainment for the acclaimed Dune film. Originally released in a run of just 2,000 and sold out at retail, this set captures the terrifying scale and texture of Arrakis\'s most fearsome inhabitant — the giant sandworm — as it erupts from the desert floor, jaws gaping and ready to defend its territory (and the spice it protects).
Each half of the two-piece set stands 8.5\" tall x 8\" wide x 6.5\" deep and is meticulously sculpted by Bigshot Toyworks, with prototyping and paint by J.W. Productions. The heavily textured, ridged hide and cavernous, tooth-lined maw are rendered in a warm desert-sand and weathered-hide palette, giving these bookends a genuinely sculptural, display-worthy presence whether flanking a bookshelf or standing alone as a Dune collectible centerpiece.
This particular set is individually numbered 753 of 2,000, hand-marked on the included Certificate of Authenticity, which is signed and packaged with the set.
