The 1950 Hopalong Cassidy lunch boxis perhaps the most historic "modern" collectible in America. It was THE FIRST "licensed" collectible of a real-live TV character in the United States(TV didn't go national until 1947).It was the first image of a real character owned by others to be used in merchandising by a third party (for an agreed price).
Every merchandised collectible todayhas its roots firmly planted in this 1950 Hopalong Cassidy Lunch Box.It's a "must have" collectible for the lunch box collector. IT IS SAID TO BE THE LUNCHBOX THAT STARTED THE LUNCHBOX COLLECTOR example of a very lightly used and exceptionally well-cared for historical original "first issue" Hopalong Cassidy 1950 lunch box.

The 1950 first edition lunchboxfor sale hereis in truly exceptional shape for a lunchbox 76 years old. It shows remarkable care.
* The photos show the outside edges and front, side panels, and bottom areas with the very lightest/slightest of normal wear, most very minor tiny scrapes and scratches which would be expected on a 76 year old lunchbox. Please review the photos.
* The flat panels front, back, bottom, and sides have no major dents of any kind and are very strong. Some specks of minor paint loss, including one larger area on the back.
* The correct 1950 collapsible metal concave shaped handle and hinges are in excellent condition, and the original latch is tight and works perfectly.
* The correct 1950 Hopalong Cassidy cloud decal on the front of the box is full, vibrant and colorful.
* The interior of this 1950's lunch box is in overall exceptional shape. The interior surface of both the bottom and top remains remarkably nice. A couple of very tiny specks of missing paint, and just very small areas of rust in the thermos area.
* The original color on the lunchbox is still quite vibrant and warm, including both exterior and interior.
* The thermos shows only light wear, absolutely remarkable shape for being 76 years old; the decals are bright and clear, the correct 1950 smooth thermos top is spectacular and original, the cork (appears to be original !) is in place, the inside of the thermos is bright, and the exterior bottom of the thermos shows "Aladdin Industries, Incorporated" clearly.
