Up for sale is a very nice vintage textbook from 1938 titled: FUNDAMENTALS of RETAILING by R. G. Walters and Edward J. Rowse and published by the South-Western Publishing Company! This book is a very detailed study of the field with Twenty-Four Chapters with QUESTIONS ON THE TEXT, PROBLEMS FOR DISCUSSION and a PROJECT listed after each Chapter. This book is illustrated with real photos of retailing methods and displays in use at the time. The publication date 1938 is found on the copyright page. SECOND EDITION is found on the spine. On the inside front cover is stamped: TRAINING DEPT. BOSTON STORE. The Boston Store was Erie, Pennsylvania\'s (my hometown) leading department store for decades. This is a HARD-TO-FIND Book!
CONDITION: This hard back book is complete and intact, in very good-plus condition as evidenced by the photos. The covers are in very good condition with very light age-expected corner wear. The inside covers are in very good condition, with no cracking or separation present the hinges; both boards are firmly attached to the binding. The only markings present is the store stamp previously mention on the front endpaper. The pages are in very good-plus to excellent condition, very nice. The pages are crisp, all pages are tight to the binding. The spine is in very good condition with light shelf wear; the lettering is easily read.
This vintage book comes from a smoke free home.
This is a nice old textbook that is hard to find, it will make for a nice addition to your collection.
