We are excited to present the collection of Ralph Meyertons (1927-2023) of Nederland, Colorado! Ralph was a longtime mineral collector who moved to Colorado in the 1950's from New York to begin career of many decades as a chemist and metallurgical engineer specializing in the processing of Molybdenum, Tungsten, and Tin. While he worked for many years for the Climax Molybdenum Corporation at their famous Climax molybdenum mine in central Colorado, his later consulting career took him all over the world, evaluating mining and mineral processing projects in places ranging from North Carolina to Montana, Europe, and beyond. His collection, which was housed in the historical Wolf Tongue Tungsten Mill in downtown Nederland Colorado, is rich not only in fine and unusual minerals representing those three elements, but also in classic Colorado minerals, particularly from the Tungsten and Gold Telluride mines on Boulder County, close to his home. We will be presenting specimens from this fascinating collection to our customers here on in the coming weeks and months. Enjoy!
