Terrific old advertising character mascot figurine made for the GIR plumbing company in France, a leader in water leak detection services.
This comical plumber figurine is depicted in his blue utility outfit with the "GIR" logo on his overalls, wearing a cap with his tool kit slung over his back. He's mounted to a triangular ashtray base made of glazed ceramic in a blue/grey color and embossed "GIR". It can be used as an ashtray or a desktop tray for trinkets. The bottom has the maker's mark "HQ" and the round stamp in French with "MADE IN FRANCE - 72" beneath it.
This piece stands 8" tall by 7" wide by 6" deep, and weighs 1.5 lbs.
It's in great shape with no cracks or breaks. A terrific piece for the advertising collector or anyone in the plumbing business.
