An original CDV photograph, nice composition & details from a Fort Edward photography studio. Handwriting looks like his name may be Frank Slason or Slasor, but I\'m not certain and the town looks like it might be Gansevoort, NY but I\'m not certain.
This may have been a student at the Fort Edward Institute School in New York: Part of a larger collection of CDVs from a New York family with a large number of CDVs of students from the Fort Edward Institute- a school that opened in 1854 and closed after a fire in 1910. Some photos have no info other than the Nims photography logo on the backside. Others have in handwriting the student\'s name, hometown, the date and a few photos say Fort Edward Institute. Some photos have personalized messages like \"Remember Me\". The one photo that has all the info had the date of 1871, so I\'m assuming many of the images date to around that time period and according to online info the school became an all girls school in 1890.
