For your consideration is a vintage Gary Cooper negative and a few corresponding photo prints. This is a distinct image of Hollywood legend Gary Cooper walking down Madison Avenue, NYC on March 5th, 1948.
You get one camera original 4x5” Kodak negative as well as three 4x5” contact prints and one 8x10 enlargement print. You also get the original paper sleeve for the negative with the photo details hand written in pencil.
The photos are stamped “Photograph by John Brefach” on the back. Apparently John was an aspiring photographer living in Paramus NJ, right outside of NYC. I could not find much information about his career or any published photos by him.
That being said… this is a rare, unpublished original image of a Hollywood Icon.
The negative appears to be in fair / good condition. The photo prints are curled as shown and have some yellowing on the backs. Please examine all of the photos for s good visual description. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking!
