This large amazing Ametrine Geode comes directly fromUruguay. Intense Grade “A” Dark, Grape Jelly Purple Amethyst over GoldenCitrine Phantoms. The word “rare” is greatly abused on , however, in thiscase, “rare” is an understatement as complete Ametrine Geodes are virtuallynon-existent anywhere on the earth. For many years, I have represented one ofthe principal mines in Artigas, Uruguay, the world-famous locality where thefinest Worldwide Amethyst specimens are sourced. This is the only Ametrine specimento ever come out of the mines. This geode has been in my personal collectionfor over two decades, and now the time has come to share it with someone else.
Just look at the pictures and enjoy! I am not a verygood photographer. I took pictures outside, in direct sunlight, and indoorswith and without flash. That being said, this specimen is much more beautifulin person. The individual medium sized crystals are water clear, with brilliantluster. Whoever acquires this geode, I would hope they preserve it as aspecimen, as opposed to having it faceted into gemstones.
This geode weighs a whopping 43 kilos (approximately95 pounds), 49 cm High x 35 cm Wide x 35 cm Deep (approximately 19 ¼” High x 13¾” Wide x 13 ¾” Deep).
