This lamp is a Victorian-revival floor piece built around three strong materials: a pink-veined marble pedestal, an antique-brass column with rococo scrollwork, and a wide bell shade of cream lace and slate-blue embroidered fabric finished with a long silk fringe.

The base is a heavy circular pedestal with a fluted antique-finish metal rim and a thick inset of polished reddish-pink marble, shot through with white and dark veining. From that stone rises a slender metal column in a distressed gold-brass patina — darkened in the recesses, bright on the high points — with ornate cast scrollwork just beneath the shade and again above the base. A light spacer ring sits at the midpoint of the pole, breaking the line before the metalwork gathers again under the shade.

The shade is the lamp’s signature. A wide arched dome is paneled in semi-sheer cream lace with a delicate floral pattern, centered by a slate-blue fabric panel carrying light floral embroidery or lace appliqué. A deep cream fringe falls from the scalloped lower edge, and two pull chains hang beneath, each tipped with a small faceted pink or amber bead. An openwork metal finial crowns the top, echoing the scrollwork on the column.

In period feel it sits between late Victorian and early Edwardian lighting: lace, fringe, cast ornament, and marble treated as jewelry rather than furniture hardware. Cesar & Son assembled it as a one-of-a-kind work from reclaimed and vintage components — not a copy of a catalog design — so the patina, the lace transparency, and the stone’s natural figure stay visible. The result reads collected and hand-finished: functional lighting that also carries the warmth and irregularity of materials that already had a life before this lamp.
