The printed caption along the lower edge of the image reads "Luftschiff L.Z. 127 'Graf Zeppelin' uberfliegt Ueberlingen," and the airship's hull markings are faintly visible in the original print, though not sharp enough to read in this reproduction.Ueberlingen sits only a few miles from Friedrichshafen, the Zeppelin works and home port where LZ 127 was built and based throughout its decade of active service from 1928 to 1937, so a sight like this one was a regular occurrence for lake-region residents whenever the airship came and went on a voyage.
