Beautiful and unusual vintage Ndebele beaded wall hanging from South Africa.
This striking piece features intricate geometric Ndebele-style beadwork made with hundreds of tiny glass beads in white, blue, red, green, yellow, black and other accent colors. The detailed geometric patterns are especially beautiful up close and really show the amount of work that went into making this piece.
The long, narrow form with the graduated beaded sections at the bottom is characteristic of Ndebele bridal beadwork and is often associated with the nyoga bridal train/veil tradition. It has been displayed as wall art and would make a fantastic addition to an African art, tribal art, folk art, or eclectic collection.
Overall very good display condition for its age. There may be minor imperfections, bead variations, or small areas of wear consistent with handmade vintage beadwork. Please examine all photos carefully, as they are part of the condition.
