This is a vintage chrome postcard, postally used and postmarked 1962 from Harmon Air Force Base in Stephenville, Newfoundland, Canada. Postcard features a view of the Hangars area at Harmon Air Force Base under a heavy blanket of snow. Harmon Air Force Base was a United States Army Air Corps Base built in 1941 in Newfoundland, in Canada as a defensive meaure against Germany in World War II. It was operated by the US Air Force until its closure in 1966. At that time, it was turned over to the Canadian government. The airfield is now operated as the Stephenville International Airport.
