Antique two-blade jack knife by Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. of Chicago — the OVB (\'Our Very Best\') hardware house. Blade tang is stamped HIBBARD over SPENCER over BARTLETT (consistent with BARTLETT & CO).Honest project/display condition — I\'m not going to pretty this up:
- Black jigged composition handle covers intact at the joint, with chipped jigging near one bolster
- Brass bolsters present, shield inlay largely worn/missing
- Main blade has overall gray pitting on the flats and active orange rust along the spine and down into the kick/tang area
- No cracks or broken tips, bolster-to-tang fit is tight, no wobble at the pivotPriced for the honest condition — a good named collectible for an HSB / OVB / Chicago hardware collector, not a mint user.
