Samuel Boyd was a historic Chicago photographer who operated a commercial photography business at 2176 Archer Avenue from 1887 to 1891. [Historical directory records from the late 19th century note his career path through the city:

• 1887–1891: Operated his studio out of the 2176 Archer Avenue location.
• 1892–1893: Moved his practice further down the street to 2110 Archer Avenue
