10 Vintage miniature Dutch Canal Houses hand-painted composite resin - Very Detailed.
These miniatures are of actual Dutch canal homes in Amsterdam and/or Rotterdam. They are of the following:
House #1 -This is a Dutch-style shoe shop featuring a stepped brick gable facade, a window sign reading "KLOMPEN" (the Dutch word for wooden clogs), and tiny wooden clogs displayed at the entrance - these shops are everywhere in both Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
House #2 - The design of this canal house is dated to around 1660 and is common in De Negen Straatjes (The 9 Streets) in the western part of the canal ring.
House #3 - The Cafe canal house depicted here with a gable featuring stepped sides similar to a staircase is one of the oldest still extant - these "trapgevel" houses were built from 1580 to 1640 and can be seen in Amsterdam along the Brouwersgracht ("Brewers' Canal").
House #4 - A common traditional Dutch canal house featuring a staircase gable with a flower shop storefront on the ground floor, many examples of which can be scene in Amsterdam's city center (the neighborhood known as the Jordaan).
House #5 - This miniature features a traditional bell gable (klokgevel) facade that was introduced around 1660. This multi-story canal home has window flower boxes, and a bike rental storefront with miniature bicycles parked outside.
House #6- The Rembrandt house in Amsterdam, a historic canal house where the artist Rembrandt van Rijn lived and worked
House #7 - The village Barber Shop - the Roman numerals on the front are MDCLXXXXVII (a stylized variant of MDCXCVII), which translates to the year 1697. This miniaturefeatures a narrow brick facade with a bell-style or stepped gable, an ornamental decorative clock, a highly textured tiled roof, and a ground-floor storefront featuring a traditional red-and-white spiraled barber pole.
House #8 - The Delft Blue Studio - typical representation of one of the many Delft Blue shops that can be seen in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
House #9 - An example of traditional Dutch bell / neck-gable architecture found along Amsterdam's historic canals, this one featuring a Proeflokalen (a small, intimate tasting room for spirits, wines, beer or cheeses).
House #10 -Replicates classic Dutch gabled architecture with white trim, red window accents, and a distinct "MUSEUM" sign above the entrance, likely a copy of a small local canal museum located in Rotterdam.
These miniatures are all vintage NIB and were only removed from their original box in order to take pictures of them.
