- Original luggage label from the Hotel da Rocha in Praia da Rocha, the well-known beach resort town on Portugal\'s Algarve in bright red with a dotted border and a white seahorse illustration at center, a fitting emblem for a seaside hotel, with the name and location lettered above and below.
Provenance and Exchange Markings
- The reverse carries a handwritten address for José Manuel Martins of Algés, Lisboa, along with a stamp for Ferri Fernando of Fermo, Italy. This kind of correspondence between collectors was typical of the hotel label exchange network active among European collectors through the mid-20th century, familiar ground for stamp and cinderella some light scuffing/surface removal at the lower edge and faint show-through from the reverse ink, both consistent with age. Design and lettering remain clear and fully legible.
