This is a soft-type Suita finishing stone with a Renge (lotus) pattern on thesharpening surface. A rectangular Renge Suita of nearly 900 g is not commonlyseen. Soft Suita stones are generally described as fast cutting and as leavinga hazy Kasumi finish, and are used for kanna (Japanese planes), chisels andkitchen knives.
