Jack Swanson #19/500 8.2 troy oz Sterling Silver Horse Head Buckle lost wax cast:
$999.00

This is a premium example of Jack N Swanson\'s (1927 until 1914) work. It is a fine art and collectible. Jack Swanson was a highly respected western artist and a member of the Cowboy Artist of America. This particular horse head belongs to a limited edition numbered FiveHundred (on the Reverse), Jack Swanson\'s home and Ranch was in Carmel Valley and having lived most of my life in Carmel Valley. I was lucky to know the family. And also being lucky enough to represent some of his work. I believe we were one of the few retail operations in California to represent him. At our business, Hudson & Company in Carmel, I do not believe he did the whole edition he would do them as they were custom ordered. We were lucky enough to feature them in Hudson & Company, and this is number Limited edition 19/500 and I am the original owner. These are very hard to find, as you\'re more often will find them as in bronze because he could make up more of those at a much less cost to hold. Sterling silver as for just the scrap value for Silver today would probably considerable. However this is Collectible Art rather than scrap silver. Jack, as I understand, it did some other lost wax castings but not as belt buckles. It was an other subject. I only know of one other selling in Sterling Silver, and that Horse head belt buckle was sold well over a year ago. You see the bronze version pop-up more often. This belt buckle, is an excellent condition and the back is solid and attached perfectly because it had very little wear. It came with a wonderful platina and it still has a wonderful patina. I believe you will find early strikes #19 would be much more collectible as it is early in the edition but I really don\'t think this edition goes all the way to that. I\'d be surprised if he actually did cast onehundred in Sterling silver maybe less as they were custom ordered through friends and clients or our store. Please be free to ask any further questions you might have. I think the picture show it pretty well thank you for looking.
