This quality stone from the okudo mine has a unique & beautiful purpleish color. It is medium hard and can be used as a finisher for knifes and tools. For razors it performs very well at middle work removing courser scratches and preparing the edge for final finishing. Being a larger tomo you can actually hone small knifes and razors right on it, or use its slurry on a larger base stone.
Besides the rubbing surface the stone has been clear lacquer sealed.
