Description
Vintage Just Andersen Danish relief vase / beaker, featuring a highly detailed continuous raised scene associated with the Danish Dannebrog legend.
The underside is stamped with the Just Andersen maker’s monogram and DENMARK, confirming the maker.
The dramatic wraparound relief depicts figures gathered outdoors, period buildings, trees and additional figures throughout the scene. The form features a flared upper rim and stepped circular foot.
Just Andersen (1884–1943) was an important Danish designer and sculptor associated with Scandinavian Art Deco metalwork. Andersen produced decorative objects in pewter, bronze and his proprietary Disko metal alloy. Documented Andersen vases with this same Dannebrog relief design are known in the collector market.
