This is the plain-edge drop point version, not the half-serrated 1550ST. Blade steel is Sandvik 14C28N with the blacked-out DLC coating that gives this knife its name — low glare, scratch resistant, and still looking sharp despite its age. SpeedSafe assisted opening means one flick of the thumb stud and the blade snaps fully open and locks. Liner lock holds firm with no wobble.
Handle is glass-filled nylon (Zytel) with contoured, textured grip panels — genuinely comfortable in hand and light enough for daily carry at roughly 3.5 oz. Made in the USA.
