This is a beautiful large Ohashido handcrafted black ebonite fountain pen. The pen features a strikingly smooth 14k extra fine (EF) nib custom made for Ohashido by Sailor. The pen is in excellent used condition. It features double gold bands on the barrel and a large nib that is comparable in size to a Sailor 1911L. Ohashido was Japan’s second oldest fountain pen maker until it closed in 2024. Created in 1912, it was a small enterprise run by three generations of artisan pen makers. Ohashido is sometimes transliterated as “Ohasido.” The pen will be accompanied by its original wooden box and a felt pen sleeve.I will include a new Sailor converter with the pen.

Ohashido operated at a much smaller scale. As a multi-generational family of penmakers, its artisans crafted hand-turnedebonite pens on a manual, foot-powered lathe. Each pen is unique and equippedwith a gold nib (typically 14k) that was custom made for Ohashido bySailor. Ohashido fountain pens are beautiful writing instruments.
