Hello Montblanc Collectors,* update: More pictures will be added tomorrow For your consideration we bring you this Extremely Rare Montblanc “Karo Guilloché” very Heavy (Possibly made by using a double or triple plating run) in 23k Gold in the main section of the barrel We acquired this Pen back in 2001 and since then we have never seen another one with this exact specs anywhere, it was either a very low production pattern or possibly a Prototype The specialist database (Penboard) describes a Prototype test production on the Noblesse Model dated around 1980 that were reportedly never sold commercially and were used inside the factory to study designs and patterns. It estimates that only 10–20 examples of a few different prototypes were madeIt is distinctly different from all the other patterns produced for this Montblanc modelThe close-up photos show a fine lattice of intersecting horizontal and vertical lines that form a regular grid of small squares KARO= check/square patternThis Pen feels heavier in the hands and the Gold is darker and brighter, it is in a very good Vintage condition with micro scratches located only on the top and bottom sections of the Pen. There are two minor (small) scratches around the top of the pen, None on the face of the clip It nicely matched with a White and Gold Montblanc Meisterstuck 1980’s Pen case with a blank warranty and instruction manual
