This MINT Green Striated PELIKAN 400 is a sort of a transitional model, as there were many smaller revisions made by Pelikan during the production of the 400 series.

The nib is crafted from 14k 585 gold and is a OB- Oblique Broad. It features a good line variation and is very smooth, as can be seen in the writing sample.
The pen is in near mint condition, as you can see in the pictures. There are no cracks visible anywhere on it. The nib collar is also not cracked. The ink window is clear and there is no ink residue on it. Lovely color pattern, a striped green pattern with standard matching black on the other parts.
Before releasing the 400N, Pelikan changed some things with the 400 during the production, which is why later 400 pens got the chick logo nib and 3x Pelikan 400 engraving on the golden cap ring. This pen came a bit before that and had the older style of nib, while getting the engraved cap band.
The nib writes well and the pen has received a full service, which included full disassembly, thorough cleaning and lubrication of moving parts with silicone.
I have provided a writing sample using Pelikan 4001 blue tint, in order to further describe the writing characteristics of the nib. Please keep in mind that I am a left handed writer.
