Embodying the values of honor, courage, and commitment, the men and women of the U.S. Navy carry the cause of freedom and democracy to the far reaches of the globe. The Sailor's Creed, minted on the reverse of this coin, contains the words that join all Navy personnel in a common bond. As a matter of course, cadets are required to learn the Creed and are expected to be able to recite it from memory shortly after they begin their basic training. As they rise through the ranks, these sailors come to understand the significance of this compelling statement and come to appreciate its enduring wisdom. In a powerful tribute, this medallion captures the essence of what it means to be a sailor in the United States Navy. Minted in a brass alloy and finished in antique bronze, this commemorative coin comes packaged with a detailed header card that underscores the significance of the U.S. Navy Sailor's Creed.
