Nippon Tokusei Dragonware Plate 8.25\" Moriage Japan Red Gold Black 1930s For Sale

Beautiful and highly detailed Japanese Nippon Tokusei decorative plate featuring an elaborate three-dimensional/moriage dragon design.

The plate measures approximately 8 1/4 inches across and features a striking red-orange ground with a raised polychrome dragon, blue textured scales, extensive gold decoration, and an intricate black and gold geometric border accented with colorful floral and scroll motifs.

The decoration is exceptionally dimensional, with raised enamel work used throughout the dragon and surrounding details. The back carries the Rising Sun Nippon Tokusei mark (日本 特製), associated with Japanese export porcelain from the early Showa period.

Dating is believed to be circa 1930s.

This is a decorative/display plate rather than an ordinary everyday dinner plate and would make an excellent addition to a collection of Japanese porcelain, Dragonware, Nippon Tokusei, or Asian decorative arts.

Condition: Overall good vintage/antique condition for its age. There is visible age-related wear to portions of the gold and painted decoration, along with some discoloration/spotting on the back. Please examine all photographs carefully, as the photos are part of the condition description. No major chip or crack is apparent.

Approximate diameter: 8 1/4 inches.

Please note that the display stand is not included.
