Commemorative ceramic tile featuring The Pennsylvania School of Horticulture for Women Pennsylvania historical marker.
The tile reproduces the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission marker dedicated in 2002 honoring the pioneering horticultural school founded in 1910 by Jane Bowne Haines. The school was among the first in the nation to educate women for professional careers in horticulture and agriculture and later merged with Temple University.
The original historical marker is located in Ambler, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, at the site associated with today’s Temple University Ambler Campus.
White glazed ceramic construction with blue historical-marker design and text on the front. The reverse is covered with cork, allowing the piece to be used as a trivet or large coaster, or displayed as a decorative commemorative tile.
