Phil Hulebak (b. 1951-) is a distinguished landscape oil painter based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he has spent most of his life immersed in the rich natural beauty and diverse culture of the region. From the majestic mountains to serene rivers and sweeping vistas, Phil draws inspiration from the enchanting landscapes that surround him.
In the early 1970s, Phil attended the University of New Mexico, focusing on fine arts and honing his artistic skills. His education was complemented by workshops in Taos and the Scottsdale Artist School, along with personalized tutorials from renowned artists such as Michael Lynch, Kevin McPherson, Scott Christensen, David Leffel, and Sherrie McGraw. This diverse training has enriched his artistic approach, allowing him to develop a unique style.
Phil's work encompasses both representational and impressionistic styles, capturing the essence of the landscape through en plein air painting as well as in his studio. He has a deep appreciation for the local colors and values, striving for an authenticity in his work that often surpasses the limitations of photography.
