This vintage Pairpoint Glass cup plate features the inscription "Chiltonville Congregational Church" across the top, and "Plymouth" across the bottom. In the center is an image of the church with the date 1814 inscribed underneath. This is cup plate number 74 in the Pairpoint catalog and was first struck in 1979. The present meetinghouse was erected in 1840 during the time of the Second Great Awakening in New England and has been modified over the years. The new steeple was put in place in 1978 to replace the one lost in the 1938 hurricane. The cup plate commemorates the erection of the new church steeple. The last photo is for size illustration only.Each authentic Pairpoint crystal cup plate is handcrafted on Cape Cod using time-honored techniques. Every 3.5" plate is individually pressed in an antique mold, producing subtle variations that highlight its unique character. Look closely and you may find the artisan's initials and the Pairpoint trademark within the design.
