Rare vintage Zim’s Heirloom Collectibles Marshall Field’s Confectioner / Chef nutcracker, dating to approximately 1997.
This unusual 13-inch figure is sometimes referred to as the “Chocolate Chef” or Confectioner Chef and is associated with Marshall Field’s celebrated confectionery and candy-making tradition. A particularly appealing piece for collectors of vintage Zim’s nutcrackers, Marshall Field’s memorabilia, department-store Christmas collectibles, and Frango-related Chicago nostalgia.
The chef is wonderfully detailed with a tall white cotton chef’s hat, white chef uniform, apron, faux-fur hair and beard, and confectioner accessories. The nutcracker mechanism works properly.
Measures approximately 13” high to the top of the chef’s hat. Round base measures approximately 4.75” in diameter.
Excellent vintage condition overall. There are scattered age-related foxing/discoloration spots on the white cotton chef’s hat as shown in the photographs. No attempt has been made to clean or treat the fabric; it is being offered exactly as found. Nutcracker mechanism works great. Please examine all photographs closely as they are part of the condition description.
