Jurassic Megalosaurid Tooth
Featured in this listing is a Megalosaurid tooth from the Tiouraren Formation of Niger.The Megalosaurid family was one of the first to be discovered and identified by English clergyman Rev William Buckland, one of the pioneers in the field of dinosaur paeleontology.The Megalosaurid was a cousin of the Spinosaur and Carcaradontosaurus within the wider Megalosauroidea superfamily that would later go on to dominate North Africa during the Cretaceous.A nicely preserved specimen of a tooth of this dinosaur type, and of a Jurassic dinosaur in general.
