Item & Condition:RARE UNSMOKED 1993 BILL ASHTON TAYLOR "CLARET" PIPE XXX
If you are here reading this, then you already know who William "Bill" Ashton-Taylor is. If not, there is a wealth of information on pipedia about him. In short, he left Dunhill after decades of working there and went onto found the Ashton Pipe company in 1983.
The Ashton Claret series is a rare but distinct, crimson-hued finish line introduced by "Bill" Ashton-Taylor. It has unique characteristics:
Oil-Curing Process: Like all Ashton pipes, Claret bowls undergo Bill Taylor's signature boiling-oil-curing technique to remove bitter tars and tannins from the raw briar.
The Claret Finish: A vibrant crimson/red-hued sandblast (and select smooth or panel variants) that highlights DEEP grain rings and is often viewed as an homage to Dunhill's historic Red Bark finish.
Ashtonite Stems: Equipped with Ashton's proprietary hand-cut Ashtonite or vulcanite/acrylic stems, which offer a softer, more comfortable jaw feel than hard acrylic while resisting oxidation
This pipe is nothing short of amazing! With deep deep sandblasted grain, a vibrant stain, oil cured briar and made to absolute perfection by the best pipe carver on the planet (yup I said it). I aint selling this one cheap guys (and ladies). I will keep it in my collection before I give it away.
*Calling all serious Ashton collectors with the money to back their collection up.*

Accurate and Honest Description? Whatever happened to good ole USA customer service? I do my utmost to be accurate and honest with my descriptions. I research pipes sometimes for hours and reach out to professionals in the field to get accurate listings. At times, even I make mistakes, but they are honest mistakes and the customer is always right! I accept full refund (no partial refunds) returns with no questions asked. I would rather lose a sale than have someone dissatisfied because that is how I would like to be treated when I am buying pipes.
Shipping Speed, Cost? I am proud of the fact that I can ship 95% of the time within an hour or two of you paying and ALWAYS within 24 hours! With the recent increase in packaging and shipping costs I have not raised my shipping prices and offer FREE shippingon additional pipes purchased in the same week (Domestic Orders Only). Not reduced but absolutely FREE!
Secure Packaging? Who wants to buy a pipe just to have it arrive broken or damaged? Unless you PM me with a different preference I always separate the stem from the pipe and wrap it separate. I then place it in bubble wrap with the stummel and pack it in a BOX with filler.
*Pipe stand, duck and/or other props not included.
