Up for sale is an incredibly rare, museum-quality 10-piece vintage 1996 Russian Matryoshka nesting doll set. This is a premium, collector-grade \"art-style\" masterpiece set, painstakingly hand-painted by a highly skilled artisan rather than a standard folk souvenir
Every single one of the 10 dolls is beautifully decorated. The set is meticulously rendered in a classical sepia-toned monochrome palette, reproducing timeless Renaissance art. The larger dolls showcase breathtakingly detailed human figures reminiscent of Leonardo da Vinci\'s sacred and classical works, including the Madonna and Child, angels, and holy figures. As the dolls nest down, the detailed portraits smoothly transition into intricate, fine-line floral and botanical accent studies on the smallest inner dolls. Each piece is sealed in a heavy, high-gloss protective lacquer finish that enhances the deep amber, brown, and gold undertones. The underside of the base doll is hand-signed in gold paint with the artist\'s details:
- Artist:Рукосуева (S.A. Rukosueva)
- Year of Production:1996
- Origin:Made in Russia
- Set Size:10 Complete Nesting Pieces
Condition Note:This 30-year-old set is in gorgeous vintage condition. The miniature artwork remains remarkably crisp, bright, and highly detailed. The wood is structurally sound with no cracks. The high-gloss lacquer finish retains an excellent shine, showing only minor surface age wear or faint scuffs consistent with careful cabinet display. The dolls fit together well.
