Really hard-to-find muster roll from the time period right after the War of 1812. The are two sides to this document that is just loaded with all kinds of historical data. I have photographed both entire sides. And then I shot each quarter of each side so you can explore the writing in detail.
Columns list alphabetical names, rank, dates and places of enlistment, terms of service and personal detailed remarks of status, pay, and discharges. I did not do more than a cursory search on the enlisted men for historic figures. I\'ll leave that to you historian types. But I did dive into the leaders and signatories on this document. They are:
Company Commander Captain John R. Bell:
Member of the Major Stephen H. Long\'s exploratory expedition to the Rocky Mountains. Bell\'s daily diaries became a primary source of mapping the Platte and Arkansas Rivers. He also fought on the Niagara Frontier and led the capture of Fort George from the British in the War of 1812.
Regimental Commander Colonel Moses Porter: Fought at Bunker Hill and served under George Washington and was one of the longest serving artillery officers in early U.S. History.
District Paymaster C.B. Tallmadge: He signed off on everyone\'s money in the columns. Of the famous Tallmadge family. His father, Benjamin Tallmadge, was the leader of George Washington\'s Culper Spy Ring during the Revolutionary War.
Inspecting Officer G.S. Drane: Signed the bottom right of the document. Went onto be the military conductor of the Cherokee forced removals --- The Trail of Tears.
This came out of box of old paper in a Pennsylvania estate I purchased last year. That is pretty much everything I know and everything I researched on it. As with most of my paper items, this piece will be sleeved in plastic and shipped via fully insured USPS Ground Advantage in a stiff cardboard envelope or box to protect it from damage.
I have a large inventory of vintage paper: Some of it is in perfect shape and some is in rough condition. Things to look out for in the photos are page yellowing, corner bumping, rips and tears, handwriting, etc. --- normal flaws in old paper.

2. When I photograph a paper item, the first two photos are usually the front and back covers next to a ruler. This is how you can determine the size. Please check this before asking what size the booklet or catalog is. I also try to shoot a photo of the last numbered page in the item so you can know how many pages there are.
3. Carefully examine my studio-quality photographs. I do my best to document any flaws or issues. I tend to go overboard in showing flaws. I hate surprises when I buy on as much as you do. I also do my best to accurately describe the items I find.
4. I basically sell \"As Is.\" That said, I will accept returns if I have been negligent in my listing information. This includes outright mistakes, misrepresentations, or any errors on my part. I do not know everything about everything (don\'t tell my kids that please). If you are not sure about something and want to \"try it out\" at home before having \"Buyer\'s remorse,\" please do not offer. Every sale or estate sale I go to is \"as is.\" I do better than that with my return policy. I mess up once in a while and I have honored all legitimate returns. Please respect this policy.
