Rare Fossil Shark Tooth – Carcharodon hastalis – Pisco Formation, Peru
This is a beautiful fossil shark tooth identified as Carcharodon hastalis, formerly commonly referred to as Isurus hastalis.
The specimen comes from the Pisco Formation of Peru, a locality well known for its marine fossils.
The tooth has attractive light-colored enameloid and a substantial root, giving it excellent display presence.
