In May of 2023, Norfolk & western J class 4-8-4 number 611 operated its final trips on the Strasburg railroad in Lancaster county Pennsylvania before the 1950 built northern itself returned home to Roanoke Virginia since leaving its birthplace in august or September of 2019.
Along the way there are other passenger trains led by one other N&W steam engine: M Class 4-8-0 number 475 that is, which also includes lots of trackside scenes at the main Strasburg depot, Fairview crossing near the red caboose motel & toy train museum, esbenshade crossing, the Groff’s grove picnic area at cherry hill crossing which is also the halfway point of this little line, making ghost whistles at carpenters crossing, & even running around at the Norfolk Southern connection at leaman place junction in paradise, which is also the route of Amtrak’s electrified keystone corridor between Harrisburg & Philadelphia.
What’s also interesting is that I have 2 copies of program by blackstone river productions.
