Viet Cong Medals - Original Vietnam War Rare Lot x 12 MEDAL - VC, National Liberation Front SPECIAL FORCES - VICTORY ORDER - GUN METAL - RESISTANCE ORDER and more ... 12 x RARE Viet Cong Medals One Lot Only Available
This is a rare and original lot of 12 North Vietnamese and Viet Cong medals from the Vietnam War era, including one issued during the 1979 invasion of Cambodia.
Included are several uncommon decorations awarded to VC, NLF, and PAVN forces for valor, service, and combat achievements, most of which are rarely encountered outside of military collections. The group comprises: Viet Cong Combatant Order (Huân Chương Chiến Công), awarded exclusively to VC sappers and special forces for direct combat exploits. Established 1947 by the Viet Minh. Soldier of Glory Medal (Chiến Sĩ Vẻ Vang), a National Liberation Front decoration awarded from 1961 onward for five years of combat service by VC or earlier Viet Minh fighters. Liberation Soldier Medal (Chiến Sĩ Giải Phóng), a rarely encountered and explicitly named decoration for frontline personnel serving the NLF and VC. Ho Chi Minh Order (Huân Chương Hồ Chí Minh), a high-level decoration for revolutionary acts, awarded since 1947. Considered equivalent to the Soviet Order of Lenin. Quyet Thang Medal (Huân Chương Quyết Thắng), awarded to VC and NVA troops for extended combat tours exceeding 12 months. This example is made from captured gun metal, not lightweight alloy, adding to its rarity. Military Exploit Order (Huân Chương Quân Công), one of the oldest Communist Vietnamese awards, given for outstanding battlefield achievement. This example is an early war lightweight non-magnetic piece. January 7th, 1979 Medal – issued after the Vietnamese Army overthrew the Khmer Rouge in Phnom Penh. Commemorates the fall of the Khmer Rouge regime and is linked to Vietnam’s invasion of Cambodia during the Third Indochina War. Southern Liberation Force Victory Order (Chien Thang), given for exceptional combat service during the latter years of the French War and throughout the Vietnam War. Officially a PAVN award, it was issued to VC personnel.
9 & 10. A matched pair of the Order of Resistance (Huân Chương Kháng Chiến) – one early, first-class metal version with two stars, and one lighter 1970s first class variation. Awarded to VC and NVA personnel. Gold Star Order (Huân Chương Sao Vàng), Vietnam’s highest award, originally issued in solid gold. Fewer than 40 have ever been awarded. This is a collector's replica, not the original. The original is solid gold.. Resolution for Victory Order (Huân Chương Quyết Thắng), established in 1969 and awarded to those who served in prolonged operations away from home, especially in the South.
All pieces are in excellent condition unless and as shown. There is only one lot available. These medals represent some of the rarest and most significant awards issued by the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and the National Liberation Front from 1947 through the postwar period, including unique items tied to special forces, prolonged combat, revolutionary leadership, and the Cambodian conflict.
