Rare Vintage 1940s Bean Blossom Indiana Jamboree Photo Signed Town Roadside Sign
DESCRIPTION:
Up for sale is an incredibly rare, historically significant piece of mid-century Indiana Americana and country music roots ephemera. This is a small, original 3x2 inch black-and-white snapshot photograph dating from the 1940s, housed entirely in its original vintage presentation frame.
The snapshot features an elite piece of roadside Americana history: a man dressed in a period-correct rimmed hat and long overcoat leaning out from behind the massive, rustic wooden "Bean Blossom" town sign designed to catch the eyes of motorists passing through rural Indiana. This photo dates exactly to the legendary dawn of the Brown County Jamboree, which began in 1941 as a roadside musical attraction before being famously purchased by Bluegrass legend Bill Monroe. Original, candid photography capturing this specific town sign from the pre-festival era is virtually impossible to find.
Features & Highlights:
100% Authentic Period Print: Showcases beautiful, natural age-related "foxing" across the background sky area (mottled dark and light coloration). This organic oxidation process acts as a badge of honor, proving this is a genuine 1940s silver gelatin snapshot and not a modern copy.
Historic Music Lore: Captures the birthplace of the world's oldest continuously running bluegrass music festival grounds before its corporate expansion.
True Estate Find: Kept in its original frame exactly as found, preserving its maximum historical value.
Condition Notes (Honest Assessment):
This item is approximately 80 to 85 years old and shows its gorgeous, true age. The photograph itself is fully intact with excellent image contrast, showing beautiful period-correct clothing details and natural vintage paper foxing in the sky background. The original framing glass is cracked cleanly in two pieces, but all glass sections are entirely present.
Frame is missing support .The unit is sold in uncleaned, un-messed-with vintage condition. Please examine the high-resolution photos closely to evaluate the exact cosmetic layout.
