Red Starr Sioux Black Sgrafitto Seed Pot with Inlaid Turquoise For Sale

This is a beautiful Native American produced pot by Red Starr who specialized in hand etching on the traditional black on black, Santa Clara pottery. He etched animals, feathers, bear paws, and many other different designs. He accents his pottery with turquoise stones. This pot has been etched with feathers and a beaver (or otter) with pup. There are two inlaid pieces of turquoise. The base has been etched with his name Red Starr Sioux with an arrow etched below his name with two stars, one on each side of and below the arrow. Also etched into the clay are the numbers 85x - 4. This pot was likely produced in 1984. It was purchased in New Mexico in 1988. It has been owned by one person (me) who kept it in a closed glass display case from the time it was purchased. It has been in a non-smoking environment. It is in like new condition. It measures 2 inches in height and is 2 1/2 inches in diameter. The opening measures only one inch in diameter. This is a very nice piece and part of a collection I am reducing in size.
