Rare and devotional 17th-century Agnus Dei relic enclosed in a double-sided reliquary pendant, likely of Italian origin and Vatican provenance. Although somewhat difficult to distinguish, the relic must have had a wax impression depicting the Lamb of God (Agnus Dei), a sacred symbol in Catholic tradition, often blessed by the Pope during Holy Years or special occasions.
The wax relic is encased under hand-cut glass, preserving the integrity and detail of the sacred image. The pendant is mounted in a silver frame with a suspension loop for devotional wearing or display. This type of object would have been used for personal protection and spiritual reflection, especially by clergy or devout laity.
Condition
Good antique condition. Minor age-related wear with some oxidation to the silver, patina on the wax and missing part in the ring. The glass remains intact and securely set. No visible cracks or private can be made using PayPal, Credit Card Bank transfer or Cash On Collection
