Royal Bavarian Silver Military Breast Star For Sale

Royal Bavarian Silver Military Breast StarThere are 2 of these, 1 Military and 1 Civilian which are being listed separately. This is for the Military one which is distinguished by the crossed swords. They were both displayed together in an old Prussian Museum in Berlin. These decorations are similar to a decoration worn by Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria who commanded an Army in the Great War ( see photo ). I’ve checked Bavarian Breast Stars awarded in the Great War and cannot find an exact match which leads me to the conclusion that these were made for Museum Displays and were not award medals. The Jeweler, Hemmerle, has been in continuous business in Munich since 1893. The Civilian one does not have the crossed swords but is otherwise identical and is listed separately. Both measure 69.10mm in diameter or 2.72”. The pin on both is stamped 900 for silver content. A special price will be offered if you want to purchase both together.
