IMPRESSIVE SELF-STANDING GREEN-TO-PURPLE FLUORITE WITH LARGE INTERGROWN CUBIC CRYSTALS — OKORUSU MINE, NAMIBIA
A beautiful and substantial 529-gram fluorite specimen attributed to the famous Okorusu Mine, Otjiwarongo Constituency, Otjozondjupa Region, Namibia.
This striking small-cabinet specimen features an exceptional arrangement of intergrown cubic fluorite crystals displaying a beautiful natural color transition from green in the upper portion to deep smoky-purple and violet toward the bottom.
The specimen has an attractive three-dimensional formation and, most importantly, stands upright naturally without requiring a separate display stand.
BEAUTIFUL GREEN-TO-PURPLE COLOR TRANSITION
One of the most distinctive characteristics of this specimen is the variation in color across the crystal cluster.
The upper portion features several prominent, translucent green fluorite cubes ranging from pale sea-green to deeper forest-green.
Moving toward the lower portion, the coloration transitions into smoky-green, lavender, deep violet, and rich purple.
Many cubes display contrasting purple edges and darker interiors, creating beautiful internal color zoning.
Under backlighting, the crystals reveal additional green, violet, and purple translucence.
LARGE, PROMINENT CUBIC CRYSTALS
This specimen is covered with numerous well-defined, intergrown cubic fluorite crystals.
Several larger cubes dominate the upper and central portions, surrounded by overlapping smaller crystals that create excellent depth and dimensional structure.
Many crystal faces exhibit fascinating natural textures, frosted surfaces, and subtle stepped growth features.
When illuminated under direct sunlight, the textured crystal faces produce an attractive reflective shimmer.
NATURALLY SELF-STANDING DISPLAY
An especially desirable characteristic of this specimen is its ability to stand upright on its own.
The natural formation allows the specimen to be displayed vertically, showcasing the green-to-purple transition and prominent cubic crystals without requiring an additional mineral stand.
Its substantial weight and dimensional depth give it an impressive cabinet presence.
CRYSTALLIZED ON BOTH SIDES
The reverse features another dense arrangement of intergrown fluorite cubes, displaying predominantly deep smoky-purple to nearly black coloration.
Many outer crystal edges reveal attractive violet, lavender, and subtle green tones when illuminated from behind.
This makes the specimen interesting from multiple viewing angles rather than having a plain, uncrystallized backside.
