2003-04 NBA Basketball Card Advertising / Marketing Materials
Pre-release 2003-2004 SPX sell sheet from Upper Deck produced to convince hobby stores to carry this particular 03-04 product. Two-sided, one page, 8.5x11-inch SPx Preview with a product breakdown with card insert odds and content highlights. Issued kind of like the last of the handbills before stuff like this became webpages
2003-04 SPX Players/Cards shown:LeBron James auto jersey rookie card, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant dual autograph card # /10, Yao Ming, Kevin Garnett and Tracy McGrady, Kobe solo. - Assuming LeBron makes it... 100% of the players pictured are Hall of Famers. Upper Deck chose wisely with this promotional showcase piece. This was Upper Deck's first year with Lebron NBA basketball cards UD going all-in with his rookie cards. Compare this to the Topps 2003-04 Basketball sell sheets (There are some in my other listings). If you only looked at the Topps promotions, you might think that LeBron James entered the NBA some other year. Carmelo though... lots of CarmeloWith Lebron's RC auto, Michael and Kobe autograph cards, the value displayed on this one-page ad has skyrocketed in the last year or so. If you have any of these iconic cards in your personal collection, this sheet makes a wonderful way to let others view an example without them ever handling your goods
Rare promotional materials like this are getting really hard to find. If you find one of these that sold recently, I sold it. This one is nicer and I believe the last of its kind in my hoardScarcity, and the rising popularity of the cards being promoted is enough to make these pop as collectible items themselves. This is a highly frameable piece of card art and collecting memorabilia and should be prominently displayed
