This sale is in aid of my local Hospice Thrift Store, where I volunteer working on electronics. I sell items here for the store that don\'t readily sell in house, alongside my normal vintage audio business.
This is a remarkable Sheaffer Giftie set from 1924/5 in the original box, both pen and pencil 9 cm long and with the hanging ring in place on both and, very unusually, the original manufacturer\'s paper label still on the top of the barrel, identifying the pen as an 18BM. I believe the pencil is model CAM. Both are gold-filled, marked in the 1925 catalog as \"green gold\". The chasing on the barrels is an elegant fluted style.
The box is in very good condition, with the original Sheaffer ribbon in the top.
Because of the condition and factors like the label, this set is highly collectable and perhaps not restored as that will take away from the originality.
This will be packed carefully to avoid damage in shipping and insured for full value.
