After years of collecting, I’m now selling off my nearly all-Marvel comic collection, focusing on Spider-Man, Daredevil, and the Hulk! This collection spans from 1975 to 2012, with issues purchased firsthand from 2003 to 2013. Whether you're looking to fill gaps in your run, revisit classic storylines, or start a new collection, these comics offer a great mix of key issues, fan-favorite arcs, and hidden gems.
Spider-Man: House of M #1–5 (2005)
Writers: Mark Waid & Tom Peyer
Artist: Salvador Larroca
This five-issue limited series ties into the House of M event, exploring Peter Parker’s alternate reality in a world reshaped by the Scarlet Witch.
In this version of reality, Spider-Man is one of the most beloved and celebrated heroes on Earth. Rather than a life of hardship, tragedy, and secret identity struggles, Peter enjoys global fame as both Peter Parker and Spider-Man. He is married to Gwen Stacy (alive in this reality), Uncle Ben is still alive, and his life is free of the burdens that normally define him. Even J. Jonah Jameson, instead of vilifying him, is subservient and humiliated.
Peter’s career thrives—he is a celebrity, film star, and idolized role model. But beneath the surface, he begins to sense something is “wrong” with this perfect life. Memories of his true past—Uncle Ben’s death, Gwen’s death, his secret identity struggles, and the endless responsibility that comes with power—start to bleed through the illusion.
As Peter’s awareness grows, the story becomes a meditation on what Spider-Man truly is without tragedy. The series questions whether Peter would still be the selfless, responsible hero without the guilt and trauma that shaped him. Ultimately, this exploration reveals the fragility of the House of M world and foreshadows its inevitable collapse.
